How cool is this?! A grocery store with no packaging. So many things can’t be or aren’t recycled, packaging takes up space (and shipping weight), so of course, eliminating it is a wonderful idea. A couple of gyus in Austin, Texas aim to do just that. Their new grocery store, in.gredients, will sell 100% package-free products. Shoppers will need to be prepared to transport their goods home, but disposable bags (yuck!) and compostable containers will be available just in case. The store will sell all the same things you are accustomed to seeing in a grocery, with the exception of junk food and packaging.
Plans are to open the store in October 2011. I hope these guys succeed. I want to one day shop there!! And since moving to Texas, quite possibly Austin area, is high on my to do list, I might actually make it there 🙂 Check them out at their website- in.gredients.com
